Since you'll be duplicating this cut on the opposite end of the rail and on the other rail also (if they're the same width), you'll want to put a stop block against the fence to quickly and accurately locate each piece for cutting the cheek (Fig. 16). While the dado head is mounted, we might just as well make the next cut on the stile. For this operation, you'll need to set the miter gauge to 45 degrees as shown in Fig. 17.
