By the way. we found it helpful to rip the end stiles a bit wide (about 2'/l6 in.) so that when the face frame was assembled. il overhung the case '/i6 in. on each end. That allowed us to use a router and a laminate bit to trim the ends perfectly flush. There's no need to fuss like that on the top and bottom, as those joints won't show.

The Back Frame

The back frame is made up of the two

end stiles (H), the center stile (I), the top rail (J), the two dividers (K). the bottom rail (L), the two small panels (M) and the two large panels (N). As with the face frame, you'll want to measure the case before cutting the parts to final length. Also, as we did with the face frame, you may want to rip the end stiles '/i6 in. wider and trim them tlush to the sides after assembly.

We used the router table along with a pair of round-over stile and rail cutters to

cut the joints on alJ the back frame parts. These cutters come as a matched two bit set. so the stiles and rails match perfectly. They also create a nice detail— stiles and rails with beaded edges. If you can't find them locally, they can be ordered from a number of mail-order outfits including MLCS Ltd., P.O. Box 4053JX. Rydal. PA 19046; tel. 1-800-533-9298.
